Dafne Veterinary Hospital describes itself as an independent clinic (positioning itself as distinct from corporate practices) and is set up for both routine care and more complex cases, including surgery and emergency work. The website states a 24-hour emergency service for registered clients, with overnight hospitalisation and intensive monitoring. Recent reviews repeatedly mention clear explanations with options and costs outlined, and specific treatments including stitches under anaesthetic, cruciate ligament repair, dental procedures (including full-mouth tooth extractions in a cat), and next-day surgery for a broken leg. One owner reports a negative experience around handling an anxious dog’s paw exam (muzzling/sedation), and felt pressured toward sedation, while others describe patient handling with reactive dogs—so experiences appear mixed depending on clinician and situation.

In February I took Hugo for his second dental procedure with Dafne Vets & I was very happy with the procedure & care given to him......... However, in June I took Hugo for an appointment for a small sore between two digits on his front paw. I asked for Hugo to be muzzled as he won't let them look at his paw otherwise. Another vet at Dafne had told me they don't like to muzzle dogs! Petra took Hugo out & came back telling me it took three people to try & look at his paw without success & asked me to book him in the following day to be sedated to enable her to see what the problem is. I asked if he could just have antibiotics & see what happens, but she would not agree to that. I did book Hugo in but then cancelled as he is such an anxious dog, I didn't want to put him through going back to the vet so soon. I took Hugo to a new vet two weeks later who was able to hold Hugo with one hand & was happy to use a muzzle on him. With the aid of his nurse, he managed to squeeze what was now a small lump on Hugo's paw which released a lot of blood but nothing else. He said if there was anything in the sore it would have popped out. He was given a course of antibiotics which cleared the problem up. Petra tried to razor the fur on Hugo's paw, which we think caused the small lump as the razor broke the top of the skin. You can also see where tufts of fur were caught with the razor, so we think it got infected, leading to the small blood filled lump. We are now staying with our new vet as we think Dafne Vets just wanted to make more money by wanting to sedate Hugo.

I can not thank Dafne vets enough for the amazing service I received from the out of hours vets yesterday 26/04/25 My very reactive dog had a seizure and really not good with men but the only vet that was available was a man 🥴 but he was absolutely amazing with my dog he was so patient and did not force my dog and worked with her in a way that was comfortable for her as she needed to be examined, I have been to a few vets with my dog and can honestly say this is one of the best. They really do understand relative dogs and anxious owners.

I signed both our Cats up with Dafne Vets this January after a difficult time with another practice. Our little girl Mabel has been cared for so well. Firstly she needed to have all her teeth extracted which was worrying for us but was carried out with absolute care. She is now a different little cat. Yesterday I needed to take her back as she was very lethargic. Again she was treated with care and professionalism. I highly recommend Nikos and his team at Dafne Vets

I was shared the vet’s details via someone I know, after original quotes at other vets were unrealistic and the hope I was given was very small. These amazing people took my cat in and operated on her broken leg the next day after talking to them and did everything they could to fix it. She received the most amazing care and I couldn’t thank them enough. She came home last night on all 4 legs, like nothing had happened! I am so thankful I found these vets! They have compassion and will do everything they can for the animals in their care. Thank you again
