Elham Valley Referrals is an independent practice focused on veterinary ophthalmology (animal eye conditions), with a stated 24-hour emergency and out-of-hours service for eye cases. Based on the website and reviews, it’s set up for specialist diagnostics and eye surgery rather than routine primary-care work: examples mentioned include cataract surgery and corneal graft procedures. Reviewers repeatedly describe very thorough examinations, and several give outcome-focused updates (for example, an ulcer treated with eye debridement healing fully; cataract surgery leading to improved vision).

The staff are very nice, making a fuss of every animal that comes in (obviously the cats and dogs all have eye injuries). Examinations are very thorough. Easy to park and find on satnav.

My dog peanut who already has 1 eye (she lost it when she was a pup) went because she got referred due to an ulcer. The staff were brilliant! The receptionist was so friendly and warm towards my dog. The vet and nurse was equally as great. Thankyou for helping Peanut 🙏 UPDATE: After having her eye debrided (basically making the ulcer bigger so new cells can regrow). Peanuts eye is fully healed and back to her normal self. Thankyou so much!

Thank you to all the team at Elham Valley Referrals. Rebecca operated on our dog Marley as he needed cataract surgery and Rebecca and her staff really looked after him. Two weeks on Marley is coping well and enjoying Rebecca's gift of sight and would 100% recommend.

The staff and their specialist expertise, attention to detail, care and consideration was wonderful, and at a time of great worry for us with our extremely timid and partly feral little cat, Bushka. We’d like to thank all of the staff, especially Bartek, Rebecca, Sonia and Becky who treated us and little Bushka so brilliantly. Her eye treatment for sequestra and corneal ulcer was in June this year. Her recovery was just as Barkek had hoped it would be and very soon after the stitches were removed you’d never know she’d had any eye problem or cone-related ordeal! She’s a happy princess again 😇😁. It’s incredibly reassuring to know there are such kind people with such skill, knowledge, aptitude and immaculate dexterity so near at hand. Thank you all so very much, from Elly, Gareth and Bushka.

My cat was referred to Elham with a suspected perforated cornea. He had an in-depth consultation and was admitted immediately for surgery, having a graft put onto his cornea and his 3rd eyelid closed. Unfortunately that evening his other eye developed the same issue, meaning he had to be seen as an emergency the next day. The second eye was not as severe as the first but he had to have his 3rd eyelid closed on that eye as well. This cat has other health issues including autoimmune disease with steroid treatment which can impact healing but within 2months we have gone from completely closed eyes, which I thought he may lose, to having full vision with very little sign that there was anything wrong, apart from regular eye drops. Now we just have to keep our fingers crossed it doesn’t reoccur… If it wasn’t for Elham, he probably would have ended up losing both eyes. The treatment is expensive, but as it is very much specialist treatment that is to be expected. I’ve always bee. Charged exactly what was quoted and they processed my insurance form after the 2nd check up once we knew he was recovering. Photos show initial eye issue, 2nd eye issue with one closed eye, both eyes closed and now, in recovery.
