Essex Vets Rainham, located in Rainham, Essex, is a veterinary clinic that also functions as a veterinary nurse training facility. The clinic has garnered mixed reviews with an overall rating of 4.1 stars from 176 reviews on Google Maps. This suggests a generally positive reception, though the reviews present a varied picture of customer experiences.
Among the reviews, Tomas, a vet at the clinic, is frequently mentioned. Some clients, like Chris Thomas and Denni-maria Perfect, have praised Tomas for his professionalism and skill, particularly highlighting successful procedures such as C-sections and BOAS surgery. These positive experiences underline the clinic's capability for complex surgical procedures and the staff's ability to reassure and communicate effectively with pet owners.
Conversely, there are notable negative reviews, such as those from Nazli and Annie Atkinson, which raise concerns about the clinic's communication and customer service. Nazli reports a distressing encounter with another vet at the clinic, while Annie Atkinson expresses dissatisfaction with the financial transparency and perceived priorities of the clinic regarding her French bulldog's care. These accounts indicate potential inconsistencies in service quality and customer relations.
Pricing transparency is a concern, as highlighted by Annie Atkinson's review, which details unexpected charges despite an initial deposit. This suggests that clients may wish to clarify costs upfront to avoid surprises.
In summary, Essex Vets Rainham has a reputation for competent veterinary care, though experiences vary. Potential clients may consider the mixed reviews, particularly those concerning customer service and pricing, when deciding on this clinic for their pet care needs.

I took my pomeranian here about a year ago to get her nails clipped, as she really doesn’t like having her paws touched and won’t let me trim them myself. The vet at the time was great and managed to do it within a couple of minutes with no issues. Since I’ve been struggling to trim her nails again, I decided to come back but unfortunately, this visit was completely different. The vet thomas who saw us this time was extremely rude, hostile and made me feel really uncomfortable. He said, in quite a disturbing way, that he would either have to “slam my dog to the ground” or sedate her. I understand refusing a service if a dog is being difficult, but there is absolutely no excuse to talk like that about an animal or to a client.

I would 100% recommend Essex Vets, they saw my golden retriever for a last minute appointment in regards to a lump I found, they said let’s remove and it was done the next day. I like the fact the vet is straight talking no beating around the bush! My boy is healing perfect! Thank you again!

Our french bulldog mabel had a C section carried out , we changed vets to Essex vets and was a bit nervous and some of the reviews we read were a bit negative, but we had the best experience and had a lovely girl Frenchie delivered. The nurse was great and Tomas was also brilliant with us. We will continue using this vet

My dog had BOAS surgery today with vet Tomas, and I would highly recommend him. From the start, he made me feel at ease and explained everything clearly. The care and professionalism shown were outstanding, and I felt confident my dog was in the best hands.

I would give 0 stars if I could. I paid the £100 deposit for my Frenchie to have a c section , so i didnt have to pay emergency prices. Came here 3 times for bloods which cost £120 in total , 3rd time we came here turns out she was ready for a c section the vet tomas in his words told me his ready to “open my dog up she’s ready” but I will have to pay for 5 consultations that he had Tuesday. so that was an extra £275 for them he wanted to me to pay plus the £750 for the c section I paid the deposit so I didn’t have to pay extra on top. anyways after the way he spoke with an attitude, I felt like he only cared about money not my dog it was a sign to come home she did it all naturally herself and safe. after seeing a few reviews off how bad c sections have gone wrong this was a complete sign that vet Tomas is not the person to perform a c section on your dog . He only cares about money not the safety .

Brilliant, so attentive and friendly, great care was taken with my dog. Very impressed by how professional and kind everyone is. I've used other vets, one very local to home but I felt it was more about the money than the welfare of my dog. It’s worth the extra travel as I know my dog is in safe caring hands. Thank you Essex Vets.
