My grumpy but lovely cat Ziggy hurt his leg and after being hissed, scratched and growled at I finally got him in a basket after nearly 6 years of trying to get him in a basket! I was really worried he might hurt the vet as he was so anxious and cross but the vet was amazing and examined him slowly with care and found the problem. Ziggy was put on pain killers for a bad knee and is doing really well as they go in his food ( if I tried to put them in his mouth he would scratch me ) He’s limping less and happy to be at home. Thank you for your patience and care with a very grumpy but lovely cat!

This was some time ago, however after recently debating to come back to the vet clinic it made me think. Our dog passed away last year. Devastating, however it took me back to many years ago when our dog had surgery over at this vets. He went in due to his teeth, which he had some removed. After the operation was done, we then got told a while after that they almost lost him. They gave him to much anaesthesia and almost lost him after the operation. Ever since then, our dog did show signs of being different, went on for years, he had changed. We did still visit the practice after and have been since for our other dogs but we never brought back the one which had an operation. It was actually today I was passing by the clinic, saw a vet worker and a owner with her dog, the dog didn’t want to walk and I originally thought it was being stubborn as some dogs are, but then they tried to walk it back over to the vets, and the dog was limping pretty bad. In these situations I feel like it’s common knowledge to pick them up, especially since the dog had stopped in the middle of the road where cars drive by. I found it odd. I must say however, we have had are beloved pets pass over at the vets, and there was one worker in particular who was very sweet, she gave us a lot of time to be in the room for our final moments, which is greatly appreciated. However thinking back to a time where they almost lost my dog, is crazy, and didn’t think to tell us sooner. Despite this being many years back, there’s still a worry it could happen again, and we do not know everything that goes on behind closed doors.

I can’t recommend this practice enough. My dog was previously registered with another local chain of vets but my gut feeling was the continued request for her to have blood tests when they had already diagnosed her with severe arthritis (she was nearly 11 and on pain relief medication) would be to no advantage when it was obvious the kindest thing would be to put her to sleep. From the moment I spoke with the receptionist at Hythe Vet Centre I knew I had done the right thing. Colin examined her and agreed that putting her to sleep would be the most caring thing to do. We were both treated with such empathy and compassion and hard as it was to say goodbye to my precious girl, I knew she would at last be out of pain. I will never forget the kindness of Colin and his team. Thank you.

These vets are so caring and we are glad we went with them! Our puppy was poorly when we first got him with a UTI, and the vets here have helped us and continue to do so with his diet ect. We are very grateful and less stressed with their support, thank you. X

I was gutted to leave our old vets behind and took a chance finding a new one by just using Google. Hythe Vet Centre sure surprised me. They have gone above and beyond with our pets' care. All the staff are friendly, compassionate and hard working. A great vet is worth their weight in gold and I can truly say Hythe Vet Centre is in that category!

I'm so glad we took out their vet plan. They don't charge more for older pets. 14 year old ginger got bitten on the bum, and we got a same day appointment. They cleaned out the wound so well that it healed really quickly. A couple of weeks later, an abscess came up near the wound, and again, we got a same day appointment. Monthly prescription flee and worm treatments are included. Ginger has two checkups each year. His favourite is when he gets his included vaccination and a pedicure.
