Amazing experience with the emergency vets team here on Sunday, couldn't fault them at all. Attentive, reassuring and so caring towards my dog, Buddy. Thank you 😊

Mixed experience with 2 different vets saying different things. My bull terrier Diego became poorly over the weekend of 14th September with continuous panting and being unable to stop. We took him in to be seen where he had blood tests and a scan done and had a temperature of 40°, by that stage he was just able to walk. Long story short the blood tests weren’t explained much to us as we were told they were a bit out but normal for a dog of 12 years and that his lungs and heart were still good, £812.01 later we were sent home with antibiotics, which were never going to work as Diego was too far gone and I feel the vet should have known this instead of saying he just had an infected/inflamed pancreas which was shown on the scan like he would recover at this point of his condition. We were told the panting would increase but slow down after some hours with the injections he’d had and the tablets we were given, but it didn’t and he suffered all night needlessly, he didn’t move from his bed and continued panting. By the morning he’d completely lost the use of his legs and couldn’t move, yet panting even faster than ever, and so I took him back to the same vets where we were seen by another vet who had a very different opinion of Diego’s condition and blood tests to the previous vet we’d seen. He appeared shocked that the previous vet even sent us home, and surprised that she hadn’t explained how concerning his blood tests actually were, and that his heart and pulse were very weak. 3 heart beats per 1 pulse. Yet again though, I was offered further treatment for an additional £3k to put him on a drip for hydration and antibiotics but I refused and asked that he’d be put down, to which the vet said he felt that was the best option.. so why offer further treatment if agreeing that putting him down was the better option? It was quite clear his condition wouldn’t improve, Diego suffered terribly whilst we waited for these meds to kick in throughout the night that would apparently stop him panting. It was heartbreaking seeing him suffer like that and being able to do absolutely nothing to ease his pain and cool temperature which upon checking at the vets again was now over 40°. A further £570.50 on the second visit and he was put to sleep. I can only hope that we aren’t at a point where money is deemed more important than a pets wellbeing and doing what’s right as apposed to painfully prolonging the inevitable, in hindsight I wish I’d had him put to sleep on the first visit but it’s difficult to request that when a vet says he has an infection and gives you antibiotics to clear it, you believe there is a chance when actually you’re given false hope that he will get better and also paid a lot of money for the privilege. I am not a vet and to me it was very clear he was dying and needed to be put out of his misery. Typically this landed on a weekend when our own vets was closed, otherwise Diego’s usual vet I feel would have been straighter with us about how sick he really was and handled this better in a much more humane way. This was an incredibly sad experience unfortunately, and now it is the thought of Diego’s suffering which is stuck with us.

An (understandably) expensive experience, but one that put me at ease and was totally worth it! My very anxious cat seemed to really like everyone there, and came back from his overnight stay in a far better mood both times than when he went in. Staff seemed to genuinely really like animals and were lovely to him. I felt far less worried leaving him here at night than at the regular vets during the day :) Everything was explained to me in detail including medications, risks, etc. in a thorough yet easy to understand way. Thank you!

From phoning my insurers who did a video call to see my dog to then contacting my vet who gave me the number for Broadway vets, I felt very looked after. The vet was local and I was made to feel welcome when I arrived. The vet did a scan of Lani after triage and and gave her an anti sickness injection. We went home with paracetamol and I was reassured that I can come straight back if there was no improvement the following day. Thankfully she improved. Highly satisfied with the service from beginning to end.
