Briar house staff are always lovely and welcoming and make a total fuss of my dog to calm him down when he’s waiting to see the vet. The vets are 100% professional and always give us very helpful advice even if not related to what we’re seeing them for. It is obvious they love animals and their jobs and care so much for my dog’s well being. They make us feel safe and well-cared for.

My dog was admitted to Briar House with pancreatitis . She was really poorly and I was so scared I was going to lose her especially when she didn't improve. Enrico and the team were absolutely brilliant. They discovered she had a foreign body in her intestine. Enrico operated and removed a lump of corn cob. Goodness knows how and where she found it. Unfortunately she is a spaniel that lives to eat. She was cared for really well during her stay and I was constantly updated on her condition. The treatment was excellent. Brilliant veterinary surgery.

[Edited previous review (also 5 stars) because Google won’t let me post two reviews.] A huge thank you to the team at Briar House for the care they gave to our girl Lyra. Lyra was a sweet and loving 17 year old, but she wasn’t always at her best at the vets; somehow the kind and compassionate team always managed to ‘convince’ her to have the treatment she needed. Thank you to Leanne who treated her for more than two years after she was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism; her skill and kindness meant we had precious years with her that we never thought we would get – years we will always treasure. Lyra responded really well to her kind and gentle manner – better than any other vet she had seen, we’ll always be grateful. Thanks also to Enrico for the care he provided on her last day. He was kind and compassionate and gave me all the options for her treatment in a clear way. He made an unbearable day, more bearable. He may have come into her life at the very end, but he will always be a positive part of her story. Finally, thanks to all the nursing and support team for years of kindness to Lyra. In particular I would like to thank Becca for her compassion when she looked after Lyra after she had passed away. I had asked for some of her white belly fur to be kept for my wife but had forgotten to ask for some of her other colouring to be kept – I was really upset about this. You can imagine how much it meant to me to find out that she had done this anyway for us. We can never say thank you enough.

I have been at Briar House Veterinary Practice for around 30yrs. It's changed so much over the years but I choose to stay because the vets & nurses take excellent care of any animal that walks/brought in through the door, all beit a wild animal, found animal or our beloved pets. Not all vets know about Pet Rats but this practice makes sure that they have someone on hand who's quite clued up on them. Now open 24hrs a day I no longer have to worry about driving miles away for an emergency vet. Highly recommend this practice , fantastic staff & everyone is so welcoming.
